Advanced Modular Pretreatment System - Class 3 permit modification

The U.S. Department of Energy is holding a 60-day public comment period and meeting on a proposed Class 3 permit modification to the Hanford Dangerous Waste Permit. If approved, the modification would allow the Advanced Modular Pretreatment System (AMPS) to be added to the permit for the Low-Activity Waste Pretreatment System Operable Unit Group. Additional capabilities are needed to ensure the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant can operate continuously. AMPS would supplement the existing Tank-Side Cesium Removal System.
