SEPA Determination of Nonsignificance for the 325 Building Emergency Backup Generator

Ecology has issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). The DNS is posted on the SEPA Register. Ecology is holding a 14-day public comment period on the DNS and comments must be submitted by Nov. 12, 2026.


On May 29, 2026, the U.S. Department of Energy submitted a Notice of Construction application for the construction of one new emergency backup generator for the 325 Building at the Hanford Site. The size of the proposed generator and pad is approximately 100 square feet.
